An Intimate Wedding Reception in Hermosa Beach
Some wedding days feel less like an event and more like a reflection of real life, and this Hermosa Beach celebration was exactly that.
Before their reception, Derreck & Jeff spent time walking down Pier Avenue, stopping into a few of their favorite local places and enjoying the neighborhood that means so much to them. Instead of formal portraits, their photos focused on fun and including memorable locations.
They began at the Community Center and then a stop at Stars Antique Market where they’ve found many cool treasures. Next, a stop at Uncorked wine shop where they got congratulatory hugs inside. They also popped into one of their favorite Pier Avenue boutiques, Curious, laughing and browsing before a quick stop at the Hermosa Beach Pier for sunset.
These kinds of portraits—walking, pausing, interacting—often become the most meaningful images from an intimate wedding day. Pier Avenue offers the perfect balance of energy and intimacy, allowing couples to feel present while their story is documented as it happens.
The celebration continued with a relaxed wedding reception at a cool Hermosa Avenue restaurant surrounded by people they love. It was a fun atmosphere with toasts, dancing, drinks flowing and lots of laughs!
